Did I ever tell you the one about my new venture?

OK, so, I think it may have totally slipped my mind - but I've been a busy girl lately! 

After quitting all of my craft 'work' responsibilities, I finally reconnected with the passion I used to have and I've been creating much more.  It's felt amazing!  I never wanted to fall in to the trap again where I had so much commitment that my passion for craft turned in to a chore.  When I discovered Clare Curd was opening her own shop, well - I just had to join her.  I absolutely love this woman, she's like a talented bundle of fun and positive energy - and we always have the craziest conversations, so I knew this could work! 

Well.. fast forward to a few months ago and I took on the role of Design Team leader - and GOSH do I love it! The girls I work with are just amazing, in every way!  They ooze talent, they're kind and they inspire me every day.  I can't see this ever feeling like a chore or zapping my creativity the way it did before.

Today, my work is featured and i'd love you to go check it out and see the amazing talent I work with!  So, without further blatherings.. here's my post!

Today I have two cards to show you featuring the 6x6 paper pad from Cosmo Cricket called '2wenty Thr3e'.  You can pick it up from here for a bargain £4.94 whilst our special offer discount is still running!

 

Both cards feature the '2wenty Thr3e' Element Deck, £2.24, as the main embellishment to show that very quick cards and much inspiration can be achieved from this nifty little pad!

 

So, here's card number 1:

 

Products Used: Cosmo Cricket 2wenty Thr3e Element Deck, Cosmo Cricket 2wenty Thr3e Patterned Paper mini deck,  Teresa Collins Everyday Moments Stamps,

For this card, I felt the image was too flat, so I cut and outlined two yellow rectangles and adhered them to the paper with foam to give a 3D effect.  I wanted to embellish the card but without being too fussy, so I stamped the Teresa Collins flower on to the same yellow and this created a visual triangle on my card - which gives it a better balance.  The Teresa Collins clear stamp also allowed me to add another greeting to the front because I could see exactly where I was stamping!

And on to card number 2:

Once I had matted my Element deck sheet on to a scalloped border of patterned paper, I set about trying to make my own 'simple' embellishment by stamping journaling spots on to 2wenty Thr3e patterned papers and cutting them out.  I felt they worked really well and when layered up with scraps of paper and greetings die cut from another paper, the card was finished in a cinch! 

 

I'd really like to highlight these stamps, as they gave me a really clean impression and were a joy to use:

 

They have so many uses and could make any pile of paper scraps in to useful journaling blocks for scrapbook pages, cards and Smash books - or get inventive and use as jar labels or gift tags.  The possibilities really are endless and they've been a staple in my craft set!  £4.91 is a snap so grab your set from us today here :)

Fate and MME Be Amazing

It would have been more 'trendy' to call it 'MME - Be Amazeballs' wouldn't it?! It's not a word I think will be showing up in my vocab any time soon, but then I said that in the 90's about 'LOL' and I find myself slipping the odd one into written conversation.. oops.. LOL ;)

I've had these paper collections since they come out, for me, it was love at first sight.  I'm not the kind of girl that likes to butcher papers that have beautiful graphics or writing on them.. I just have them hanging around until the writing has some meaning to what I wish to scrapbook or we have a spectacular breakup where I declare "it isn't you.. it's me.. I just can't do this anymore.. i'm cheating on you with October Afternoon".

Lee was taking some pics at the window with my camera and I was hovering about nagging him to take them outside because the glass would make the picture suck.. blah blah blah.  Then, he turns to me with such a smile of pride on his face and shows me his pictures taken through the heart on the window :)  That's impressive imagination for a man isn't it?!

Here's a fancy pants close-up to show I actually used some ribbon on my layout - hurray!!

Oh and buttons.. ding ding double points!!!

Ooh Leaf - Glazed misting and mini alphas

I've always kicked myself for not picking up the world famous Studio G £1 set of mini wooden alpha stamps.  KICK!  I thought that wooden was not the best format for alphas, I can't see where i'm stamping - it will be wonky - a mess!  But well, wonky and messy is all the rage these days ;)

So, imagine my joy when I found a similar set in Hobbycraft for £3.  Ignore that it's £2 more expensive - it's been about 5 years since I regretted buying those aforementioned stamps.. £2 counts for inflation!? There's a whole array of fonts, but I managed to be a good girl and just get two sets!

I use so many tiny alpha stickers in my Project Life, these babies will save me a fortune!!

Absolutely Fabulous using old Stash from American Crafts

I've been trying to use old stash lately and have really enjoyed 'shoppin' my own stash' to see what forgotten treasures lurked around! 

These American Crafts collection kits are timeless and very easy to throw on some extras from the buttons or brads pile.  (Admit it.. we all have a million brads that sit there crying, doomed to the cupboard because last time you used them, you dropped them on the floor and ended up on hands and knees at 4am picking up 15000 of them).

You see, not much stash used, but I do like my clean and simple layouts! (in reference to yesterdays post). 

Hmm. 

Big Girl

Over on UKS, my lovely friend Chris challenged us to do the weekly UKS challenge which was a sketch!  It was a fortnight ago now, but here's the finished piece anyway!

 

I've had these K&Company felt flowers since forever!  'Wild Saffron' - how retro is that?! Once the layout was complete, I added the title and the word 'big' was in white Thickers.  It seemed a bit naked so I decided to colour all of the letter stickers and the doily with a brown Promarker so they matched and add doodling around the page to bring it all together.

Hmm, an interesting one..

.. I find i'm like my 'messy' layouts less compared to the clean and simple ones - but then they don't use up much stash?! LOL
